Suggested tax treatment NEEDS INPUT

Select a country and tax status to see a suggested tax setup. Suggestions never apply tax on their own.

Tax treatment can depend on registration status, transaction type and jurisdiction. Country presets are provided to help configure invoices and are not tax advice.

What is a quote?

A quote sets out a proposed price before a customer accepts work or a sale.

When to use it

Use it to define the planned scope, quantities, rates, validity period and terms before creating an invoice.

Next step: When a customer has accepted the proposed scope, use Convert to Invoice to carry the quote details into an invoice draft. Review the invoice date, due date, tax settings and final amounts before downloading.

Quote vs invoice vs estimate

A quote proposes a price before acceptance. An estimate communicates expected costs when the final scope may change. An invoice requests payment after work is billable. Keep the quote number on the later invoice so both parties can reconcile the trail. See invoice vs quote and the quote-to-invoice workflow.

What to include on a quote

  • Seller and customer details
  • Clear scope, quantities and proposed rates
  • Validity period or expiry date for the offer
  • Assumptions, exclusions and payment terms if known
  • A unique quote number for later conversion
