Suggested tax treatment NEEDS INPUT

Select a country and tax status to see a suggested tax setup. Suggestions never apply tax on their own.

Tax treatment can depend on registration status, transaction type and jurisdiction. Country presets are provided to help configure invoices and are not tax advice.

Why use the India invoice generator?

Create an India GST invoice with INR formatting, optional GSTIN and HSN/SAC fields, user-controlled CGST/SGST or IGST, place of supply and UPI instructions.

  • INR currency with Indian digit grouping where supported
  • GSTIN, customer GSTIN, state, PIN and place-of-supply fields
  • Choose no GST, CGST + SGST, IGST, or custom tax configuration

Country-oriented fields

This mode offers editable currency, date and tax labels alongside seller, customer, item, reference and payment fields in the shared invoice editor. Field availability is a starting point only; it does not establish that a document is sufficient for a particular transaction.

  • Supplier GSTIN and optional customer GSTIN
  • State, place of supply and PIN code fields
  • Per-item HSN/SAC and optional per-line tax override
  • User-controlled CGST + SGST or IGST tax rules and rates
  • UPI ID, bank transfer details or payment link

GST controls

Enter the supplier and customer states, confirm GST registration, and the editor suggests CGST + SGST for same-state supplies or IGST for different-state supplies, plus the verified GST slab rates to choose from. Confirm the treatment and slab before applying; nothing is charged automatically and the tool does not determine GST liability.

Payment details

Available payment method labels include Bank Transfer, UPI, PayPal, Payment Link, Cash, Custom Instructions. Add only your own payment instructions, account details or link; this site does not process payments.

How to create your invoice

  1. Check the selected country, currency and date format.
  2. Enter seller and customer details; use country-oriented fields only when relevant.
  3. Choose a tax label and enter a rate only after determining what applies to your transaction.
  4. Add line items, discounts, charges and payment instructions; review the live preview.
  5. Download the generated PDF or print separately, then keep a copy with your records.
This is an editable invoice starting layout, not a compliance certification. The tool does not determine legal or tax obligations, validate a tax rate or confirm that every required field is present.

Sources & Review

Last reviewed:

Checked the field labels and place-of-supply disclaimer against active CBIC materials; the tool does not apply invoice or place-of-supply rules. A source review is not an individual invoice review or a legal, tax or accounting assessment. Suggested rates are verified against official sources and applied only after you confirm them.

  • CGST Rules, Rule 46: Tax invoiceCentral Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Government of India

Official place-of-supply text. The page notes a 2023 amendment whose commencement was yet to be notified; the generator does not apply place-of-supply rules.
